Our Program
Bible: Bob Jones University Third Edition: A Father's Care
Students are taught that the Bible accounts are fact. The Bible is used as the final authority in all guided discussions. Lessons emphasize God's dealing with His people and the need of every individual to be saved.
English/Language Arts: A balanced literacy model from Bob Jones University
There are a variety of reading and writing activities that foster literacy growth each day. These activities are built into our day with predictable routines. Some of these activities include small guided reading groups, independent reading and writing, shared reading, and modeled writing. Each day students will be reading independently, listening to reading, and practicing reading skills (word work). They will also be writing daily and practicing the steps of the writing process.
Mathematics: Bob Jones University, 4th edition
Lessons begin with context-based situations and then build to more abstract problems. Contents covered are addition, subtraction, comparing numbers, two-digit addition and subtraction, measurement and data. All along the way children use models, manipulative usage, quick pictures, and symbols to build mathematical understanding.
Science: Purposeful Design
Our science curriculum is based on scientific discoveries found in the wonderful world God has created and includes units on insects, birds and simple machines.
Social Studies: Bob Jones University Heritage Studies
Units include studying our country, state and community. We also study Native Americans, Columbus and the Pilgrims.
Enrichment Classes:
Art, Computers, Music, Library and P.E.
